Man of Science, Man of Faith.

Let's talk about LOST! Man of Science, Man of Faith.

Beeping.
An eye opens as the man takes a deep breath. We see computer with a green blinking icon.

A man jumps off the top bunk, pushes himself in a rolling office desk chair and pushes keys on a computer keyboard, presses EXECUTE. {Something resets.}
In a red/rose colored room he puts a record {Album}on the turntable, {the song Make Your Own Kind of Music plays. Lava lamp is on} and proceeds to cleans up his very messy space. {Washes dishes} He exercises on a red exercise bike, does pull ups from a pipe, sit ups, showers, dries laundry (Note: new washer and dryer) and mixes up a fruity drink in the blender.
He gives himself an injection, something explodes and the needle scratches across the record!

He gets dressed in a Dharma jumpsuit, uses a combination to unlock a room stocked with weapons, grabs gun, pushes controls on a piece of electronics {disabling something/power} and looks through a sophisticated "scope" with many lens and mirrors {A looking glass of sorts.}

The camera takes us on a ride up the long shaft to reveal
Locke and Jack are looking down into the rabbit hole, uh, I mean hatch!

Hurley is zoned and repeating the numbers. {Like Lenny in Santa Rosa.}
Kate asks if he’s okay.
Hurley-“Huh? Yeah, awesome. I just have to pee. {Kate walks over to the hatch} Great idea, dude, go look into the burning death hole.”
The three look into the hatch but can’t see anything. Kate asks what it is.
Jack-“It doesn't matter what it is. We blew the door so we could get everyone inside this thing so we could be safe. That plan is not going to work. We'll never get everyone down in time.“
Curious Locke drops a rock into the hatch. There is shallow water down there; sounds like a puddle.
Kate-"40 feet down?"
Locke-“50 tops. If we could use the wire we pulled from the fuselage… rig up a harness...”
Jack tells Locke we’re leaving now; Hurley thinks that’s a good idea.
{So you blow open the friggin hatch and he wants to go back to camp! WTF, JACK? You spent all that time figuring a way into it, trip to the black rock, Arzt dies, monster tries to take Locke and you want to wait to go in?! Jackass.}
Locke doesn't want to leave as they went through a lot to get there.
Jack-“The ladder's broken. You gonna to lower 40 people down there one by one? They're waiting for us to come back and tell them what to do, so let's forget about the harnesses.”
Jack seems uppity and Locke suggests they calm down. {Listen to the sounds in the background.}
Jack the boss, tells him, “Look, if you want to go exploring in the morning that's fine, but tonight we're done. I'm going to go get the dynamite that we didn't use and we're heading back to the caves. How about you pack it up, John."
Locke is taken aback at Jack’s attitude but says “Sure. Of course.”
He asks Jack why he doesn’t want to go down there.
{Flash Whoosh}
{Listen carefully to the dialog here.}
A woman being wheeled in to the emergency room.
The EMT gives info to the medical staff- “Female, late 20's, no ID, she coded twice on the way over here.”
Nurse-“Where's the other one?” {It sounds like she asks ‘who’}
EMT- “Right behind us. They're on their way.” (Fire Department had to use the jaws.)
Intern- “What do we got here?”
Nurse-“Female. Late 20s... Auto accident."
Intern-“What the hell is that thing?
{Jack hasn’t even "seen" the patient at this point and answers the interns question as he’s walking through the door.}
Jack- “A piece of the steering column. All right, let's go. Keep that collar steady. Page my father?”
The intern already did.
Jack wants the info on the patient.
Jack’s told, “Her tire blew, car jumped the divider, went head-on with an SUV.“
The patient’s BP is dropping.
Jack-“Pericardial’s pierced. Was she driving?”
EMT- “Yes, alone.”
Jack-“Where's the driver of the SUV?”
As if on cue a man is wheeled in and an EMT enters giving info on- “Adam Rutherford, 57, chest trauma, no breath sounds.”
Jack directs the intern to tube Mr. Rutherford while he…The intern says he can’t intubate, Jack has to.
A nurse informs Dr. Shephard, “his breathing's deteriorating.”
Jack opts to work on the injured woman; he pulls the steering column out of her chest.
Nurse-“88 over 52, no radial pulse.”
Jack-“I know. I know…sac's flooded. Where's it...”
He’s handed a big syringe. {Listen to the voices in the distant background, you can hear “5 gagePupils dilatedDropping. Doctor, we're losing him.}
As Jack continues he gets the woman’s BP to stabilize and we hear the flat line sound of Adam Rutherford's heart monitor.
Nurse- “Time of death 8:15am.“

Jack-“Okay, get me a blood gas and a C-spine. Get her up to ICU and keep her immobilized.”
The female patient very weakly whispers something.
The intern asks, “Did you hear that?...What did she say?”
Jack heard her and states matter of fact, “She said she has to dance at her wedding.
{Flash Whoosh}
All the survivors are gathered at the dark caves. Charlie is telling a few that no one is out there, “No one is coming.”
One survivor is concerned because of what the French woman said.
Charlie-“The French woman is missing a bloody wing nut, you know. I mean, I mean, it was all bollocks. It's a ghost story. She set the fire herself.“
Sayid listens to Charlie.
Shannon asks if anyone has seen “Vincent…the dog. Anyone seen him? Has anyone seen the dog?” {Is there another Vincent that is not a dog?}
She tells Sayid, “I lost the damn dog.”
She heads out to look for him and Sayid follows.

Locke smiles as he looks down into the dark hatch. Hurley asks him why he lit the fuse.
Locke-“Why wouldn't I light the fuse?"
Hurley-“Ah, maybe because I was running towards you, waving my arms, yelling "don't do that?"
Locke laughs, ”Well, you've got a point there. I guess I was just excited to get inside. I mean, that's why we came here, isn't it?  That's why we went all the way out to the Black Rock, and why we got the dynamite to blow the hatch.   And we did it so that we could get inside, Hugo.”
Jack comments, “And to save everybody's lives.”
Jack asks Locke, “Or maybe it was just our destiny, right, John?”
Locke-“Maybe.”
Kate has the guys take a look at the hatch door that is right near them; "QUARANTINE" is stenciled on the inside of the hatch door.

Shannon is calling out for Vincent.
Sayid doesn’t think this is a good idea.  Shannon saw him 5 minutes ago and besides Sayid said there isn’t anyone out there.
Sayid clarifies, "I said we didn't see anyone. The dog will come back on his own. He always does.” Shannon feels watching that dog was the one thing anyone has ever asked her to do and if something happens to him…"
Sayid-“When was the last time you slept or had something to eat? You're exhausted.”
Shannon-“I can't tell that kid that I lost his dog because I was exhausted.”
A dog barks in the distance. They see Vincent sitting quiet and still in the middle of the jungle. Sayid will go circle around behind him but the dog runs away.
Shannon runs after Sayid, calling out for him. “Where are you?”
She trips over something, finding herself alone in the middle of the jungle hearing whispers. Then Shannon sees an image of Walt, dripping wet.  She asks Walt what he’s doing here.
Walt-“Shhhh.”
Then some backwards dialog comes out of his mouth.
Sayid calls out for Shannon and Vincent barks.    Shannon looks away from Walt and then back to him, but he has disappeared.
Sayid-“Shannon! What is it? What?“
Shannon looks panicked.

On their walk to the caves Kate asks Locke “Why do you want to get down there so bad?”
Locke corrects her,”-ly. Why do I want to get down there so badly.  Jack thinks I'm crazy, doesn't he?”
Kate-“Why, because you want to drop into a hatch that's been locked from the inside by a foot-thick steel door that says “quarantine?"
Locke-“Well, look at the bright side damage is done.”
Kate-“The bright side?
Locke-“And if Jack thinks I've lost it, I can't blame him, really.  Then again, 5 hours ago I was pulled into a hole by what appeared to be a column of black smoke. Did you see it, Kate? {She did.} Then I guess we're both crazy. Wonder what Jack thinks he saw?”
{It was daylight when that happened.}

Jack and Hurley are together on their walk back to the caves; they trail Locke and Kate. Hurley suggests Jack go ahead so Locke doesn’t make time with his girl, “Joke, dude.”
Jack isn’t in the mood.
Hurley-“Really? Wow, usually you're, like, Mr. Ha-ha. {Jack laughs.} There you go. Life's not so bad, right?   I mean, sure the Others are coming to, like, eat us all, and every once in a while someone blows up all over you, but you do get to sleep in every morning.” {They’ve stopped walking.}
Jack inquires about Hurley mentioning the numbers are bad.   Hurley feels that’s a long story, but Jack has time to hear it.
Hurley-“You'll think I'm crazy.“
Jack-"Try me."
Hurley-“A while ago I was in this kind of psych ward, and there was this guy, Leonard…and all the time I knew him all he ever said were these numbers… 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42, over and over and over again.   And they kind of got stuck in my head.  So, when I got out, well, actually a couple of months after I got out, I was buying a frozen burrito and I thought, hey, I should play the lottery.   And I guess those numbers were still stuck in my head so I played them. And I won114 million dollars. That's when it started happening.   My grandpa died, my house caught on fire, the chicken joint that I worked at got hit by a meteor… well, actually meteorite.   Okay, so tonight I see the same freaking numbers on the hatch thing …just written on the side.  And that's why I tried to stop it, because that thing is cursed, man.“
Jack-"You were in a psych ward?"
Hurley-"I'm not crazy."
Jack-"I'm not saying you are."
Hurley-"So, what? That's it? That's all?"
Jack-"What do you want me to say?"
Hurley-"How about you believe me, man?"
Jack-"Hurley, they're numbers."
Hurley-"What's that thing where doctors make you feel better just by talking to you?"
Jack-"Bedside manner."
Hurley-"Yeah, that. Yours sucks, dude."
{Flash Whoosh}
Jack is writing while standing over the hospital bed of the injured woman whom is just waking up. {There are 2 other sleeping patients in the room.}
The woman, Sarah, asks what happened to him. “The other car that I hit…the other driver was older.”
Jack reveals her he died in the E.R.
Sarah tells the Doctor she can’t feel anything.
Jack-“I know.“
Sarah-“What's happened to me?” {Jack’s eyes are dark.}
Jack informs her in a calm unemotional and detached manner, “You have a fracture dislocation of your thoracic lumbar spine with multiple crushed vertebrae. Your back is broken. Your spleen is ruptured and bleeding into your abdomen and that has to be stopped. I'm going to perform surgery and repair as much damage as possible. But even the most optimistic result puts the likelihood of retaining any feeling or mobility anywhere below the waist at "extremely unlikely".
Doctor Christian Shephard observed all this through a glass window. He asks Dr. Jack if he may have a word.
As they walk down the hall Jack wonders what he did wrong.
Christian-“You did something wrong?”
Jack-“You're frowning.”
Christian-“My face is always this way.”
Jack is really interested to hear what dad has to say.
Christian-“You might want to try handing out some hope every once in awhile. Even if there's a 99 percent probability that they're utterly, hopelessly screwed, folks are much more inclined to hear that 1 percent chance that things are going to be okay.
Jack-“Her spines crushed. I tell her that everything's going to be okay, that's false hope, dad."
Christian-“Maybe, maybe, but it's still hope.”
Dad gives him a ‘buddy smack’ on his arm and the both walk away in opposite directions.
{Flash Whoosh}
In the caves, crying Shannon is trying to tell everyone she knows what she saw, “It was Walt.”
Sayid wants her to lower her voice as to not upset the rest of the group.
Shannon-“I heard whispers.“
Claire- “Where?”
Shannon-“Everywhere.“
Charlie wonders, “What …what whispers? Who?”
Shannon doesn’t know, “Them.”
Sun asks her if she thinks something happened to the raft. Sayid tells her nothing happened to the raft, “Walt is with your husband, with Sawyer…”
Upset Shannon knows what she saw!
Charlie announces that the dynamite hatch team is back.
Jack stands front and center of the group and makes a speech. “Uh, Locke found, uh, a hatch in the ground… about a half a mile from here. We left to, to blow it open so that we could hide inside, so all of us could hide inside, in case... But that doesn't matter now because it's not going to work. There's no way for all of us to get down in there tonight.”
Charlie asks Jack where Dr. Arzt is.
Jack reveals he didn’t make it.
Shannon asks if he saw them, “Did you see the Others?
Charlie blurts out there are no Others, “We've already had this conversation.” {That's right, they're all Others.}
Charlie insists there’s no one out there and Shannon insists Charlie doesn’t know because he didn’t see anything
Jack- “Hey! Everything's going to be okay.  Let's just take it easy.   We're going to be alright.  We're going to stay here tonight, okay, together.  We've still got 4 guns.  We'll put lookouts at all the entrances.  We're all going to be safe as long as we stay together.  The sun comes up in 3 hours {remember that} and we're all going to be here to see that happenI promise. {Locke interrupts the speech} John, what are you doing?”
Locke-“I'm getting some cable.”
Jack-“What for?”
Locke tells him it’s for the hatch, “I’m going in.”
Jack wonders if that’s the smartest thing to do right now.
Locke-“I doubt it. In fact, you're right. The safest thing is to stay here, wait for morning, wait for these Others to see if they ever show up.   Wait for the brave folks on the raft to bring help.  But me, I'm tired of waiting.  Nonchalant Locke heads out with a lot of cable.   Jack and Kate share a look.

Jack sits off by himself in a fixed stare. Kate walks over and asks him if he believes it.
Jack-“Believe what?“
Kate- “That everything’s gonna be okay.”
Jack believes it.
Kate- “Kind of unlike you, the whole glass half-full thing."
Jack-“There's a glass?”    {Yes, of course there’s a glass! A big looking glass!}
They laugh.
Kate-“You did a good thing saying, what you said, And taking care of everybody and just giving them something to count on. If you weren't here, Jack...I'm going to the hatch. I understand why you can't go. They need you here. I get it. I do. But Locke's going into that thing whether you like it or not. And if he falls and breaks his neck... Live together, die alone, right?”
Jack-“Right.”
Kate walks away.
{Flash Whoosh}
Jack Shephard M.D. chats with Sarah's fiancé, Kevin, in Jack's office.
Jack tells him his fiancé was seriously injured. It could take as long as 10, maybe 12 hours. “I won't know how extensive the damage is until I get inside.”
Stunned Kevin {Wears black} comments she was going for a dress fitting and to look at tablecloths. Jack asks when the wedding is.
Kevin-“Its 8 months.”
Jack is sure Sarah will have recovered by then.
Kevin asks what does "recovered" mean.
Jack-“There will be ongoing physical therapy, but if she works really hard...”
Kevin’s concern is if she’ll be able to make love.
Jack-“You need to know that there's a chance Sarah might very well need professional care for the rest of her life.”
Kevin-“Like, she won't be able to go to the bathroom by herself?”
Jack is taken aback by his attitude.

Jack bursts open the O.R. door. Sarah is getting prepped  and so is Jack.
Sarah quietly tells Jack to, “Come here. Come here. I want to tell you a little secret. Come on… Closer… It's okay. I know I'm not going to be dancing anymore. I can still roll around at my wedding. And you're invited, okay.“
Handsome focused Jack states matter of fact, “I'm going to fix you.”
Sarah goes to sleep.
Jack realizes the staff heard him make this statement.

Locke is at the hatch. {Makes a noose loop cable w/exposed wires.}
He smiles as he knows Kate has arrived.
Kate expected to find him half way down there by now.
Locke-“I was waiting for you.”
Locke wants her to go down first as she's lighter, and belay her; he can lower her down and bring her back up just as easily.  Kate feels he left out the part where, "you just want to see if I get eaten by something."
Locke-"Yeah, well, that too."
He ties the cable rig around Kate and asks, "Not too tight?"
She starts climbing down the ladder, "Wait, what do I say if I need to stop?"
Locke-"Stop."
Kate is afraid.
As he lowers her down one of the trees holding the cable breaks, dropping Kate lower. {So much for being lighter. lol}
There is a scream! Locke holds on tight as to not drop her!
Kate yells up that she dropped the light.
Focused John continues to lower her down; his hands are bleeding.   On her way down she sees a mirror and a light revealing an opening.    She starts using Jack's "count to five" exercise {She counts to four}
The light goes out and then back on, as if something was closing and opening.
Kate yells for John to stop; she thinks there's something down... All of a sudden a bright light goes on and a scream can be heard.   Locke calls out for Kate but she doesn't reply.    The cable-vine seems to get pulled from his hands as if someone is on the other end pulling it; the light goes out.
Locke calls down into the dark hatch for Kate.

Back at the caves, Jack is fired up.   He loads a gun. {Jack always has access to a gun.} Hurley wonders if he's kidding, "You're going back?"
Hurley asks what about all the things Jack said "Wait until morning, watch the sunrise."
Well, Jack changed his mind.

Jack runs through the dark jungle with his torch arriving at the hatch. He tugs on the cable-vine {it seems secure}, calls out for Kate and Locke. There's no reply from them so Jack drops his torch to the bottom, {Sounds like it hits a puddle}.    He wraps his hands for protection {Knowing they will get torn up otherwise.} and slides down the secure cable-vine.
{Flash Whoosh}
At night Jack is running the steps at an empty stadiumUp and down, up and down. {I wonder how many times he's runs the steps, how often?}
Another man{w/tiny pony tail} joins in 1 row over.   There's a little competition between them for a moment as the man quickens his pace to pull ahead of Jack.
 Jack trips!
The man with the tiny ponytail and Scotch accent asks, "You alright, brotha?"
He tells Jack to take it easy; keep the weight off. "Does this hurt?" {Jack nods no. The man checks his right ankle.} You haven't sprained it then. I don't fancy your chances of catching up with me tonight, though."
Out of breath Jack says, "I wasn't trying to catch up."
Ponytail man-"Aye, of course you weren't."
Jack wonders what he knows about sprains, anyway.
Ponytail man-"I was almost a doctor once."
Jack-"Small world."   {Especially in their world! lol}
Ponytail main-"You a doctor then? {Jack nods yes}
Ponytail man offers Jack his water bottle. So what's your excuse?"
Jack-"Excuse?"
Ponytail man-"For running like the devil's chasing you. My excuse - I'm training."
Jack- "Training for what?"
Ponytail man-"For a race around the world. Impressive, I know. So your excuse better be good, brother."
Jack-"Just trying to work a few things out."
The amused ponytail man asks,"Ah, a girl, right?"
Jack-"A patient."
Ponytail man, "Ah, but a girl patient. What's her name?"
Jack-"Her name's Sarah."
Ponytail man-"What'd you do to her then?"
Jack-"Do to her?"
Ponytail man- "You must have done something worthy of this self-flagellation."
Jack-"I told her... I made a promise I couldn't keep... I told her I'd fix her and... couldn't. I failed."
Ponytail man-"Well, right. Just one thing... what if you did fix her?"
Jack-"I didn't."
Ponytail man-"But what if you did?"
Jack-"You don't know what you're talking about, man."
Ponytail man-"I don't? Why not?"
Jack-"Because with her situation that would be a miracle, brother."
Ponytail man-"Oh, and you don't believe in miracles? {Jack laughs} Right. Well then, I'm going to give you some advice anyway. You have to lift er up."
Jack-"Lift it up?"
Ponytail man-"Your ankle. You've got to keep it elevated. It's been nice chatting."
Jack hands the ponytail man back the water bottle and introduces himself, "Jack."
Ponytail man-"Jack, I'm Desmond. Good luck, brotha. See you in another life, yeah?"
Desmond runs down the stairs.
{Flash Whoosh}
Jack lands on the bottom of the hatch shaft.    He finds a turned on flashlight and the mirror in a partial puddle, he looks around and walks through an opening.   He notes a floodlight and huge pipes, plumbing pipes and dripping water running through a "walkway".
{Note a pair of shoes left outside of the doorway.}
He readies his gun while looking around and noting there's electric power to this underground cement and steel place.
He sees a painted mural with 108 and other images on it.
Jack examines a portion of a wall and the key around his neck is pulled by a magnetic force. A looking glass/mirror/camera adjusts to get a better look at Jack.
All of a sudden the song Make Your Own Kind of Music turns on, loud! {Making the scratch skip sound before the tune kicks in.} A bright lights turns on!
Nervous Jack enters computer room and looks around.
There are clicking sounds of the very old computers. {Reel to reel computer data storage system.}
You can hear Kate yelling for Jack in the background! But  Jack doesn't hear her.
He checks out the old computer screen with it's blinking green 'ready/input/go' icon.
He's just about to push EXECUTE and the record scratches to a stop!

"I wouldn't do that."    It's nervous Locke standing there.
Jack points the gun at him wanting to know where Kate is. Just then a gun is pointed at Locke's head by the hidden Hatch Man.

 Jack is sitting in Sarah's hospital room. {# 8 is on equipment next to him. Time on the clock 6:12-ish} She wakes up asking if she's alive.    Jack confirms she's alive.
Sarah informs him he smells; smells like he ran far.
Jack says he showered, "I mean, I guess I just didn't cool. I... I wanted to get back down here and check on you. It was a Tour de Stade." {French}
He explains it's when you run all the steps in every section of an empty stadium up and down. He does this because he's intense.    Jack admits he didn't finish because he hurt his ankle.
Sarah asks for Kevin, her fiancé.  Jack didn't see him.
He breaks the news to Sarah.
Emotional Jack-"Sarah, the... the damage to your back was extensive. I did everything I could but your spinal column... I just...I couldn't repair it. {He cries.}You're going to be paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of your life. {Just like Locke} I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Sarah."
Sarah-"You're yanking my chain, right?"
Jack-"No."
Sarah can wiggle her toes. Jack examines her asking if she can feel "this".
Sarah has feeling.
They both cry.
{Flash Whoosh}
The unseen Hatch Man tells Jack,"Move and I kill him. Put the gun down."
Jack asks where Kate is and Locke tells him it's okay. The Hatch Man demands Jack drop it but Jack only wants to know about Kate.
Locke-"She's fine, just put down the..."
Jack-"I'm not putting anything..."
A shot is fired by the Hatch Man, "Do you want him to die? Put it down!"
Jack-"Is this what you were talking about, Locke? Is this your destiny? All roads lead here?"
Locke-"Jack, calm down."
The Hatch Man moves behind Locke, tells Jack, "Lower your gun or I'll blow his damned head off, brother."
Jack recognizes that voice and word. The Hatch Man shows his face revealing it's the man Jack met at the stadium.
Jack is stunned-"You."

Man of Science, Man of Faith is a GREAT episode!!!
The connections of the residents of the "Island" really start to show themselves here in season 2. The connections and relations are all over the place.

Let's look at Jack's "Flash":   A woman with no I.D. and coded twice is brought into the hospital.    Is Jack the only doctor in the whole emergency department?   Maybe he is... But he no doubt chooses to work only on the woman who coded twice.   Adam also codes.  Of course, Shannon's father is the other man in this part of their story.
This episode shows us Sarah was supposed to be a "cripple".     Are we seeing a real miracle or a manipulated part of their story?     If Jack knows without doubt that he did not fix her, what changed to fix her?   Are there really miracles?   Does Desmond know what's he's talking about? Hmm?!
We could be talking about metaphors; using "cripple" for emotional crippling as opposed to physical crippling.

On to Walt showing himself in a place no one expected him:  How often has Walt traveled through the "universe": to go hang out somewhere?   Is he able to do this telepathically, physically or is it really even Walt?  There's no denying  we're told Walt is special, but how? WAAAAAALLLLLLT!!! {I just had to do that, LOL!}

The shoes outside of the doorway in the hatch: {We know who the shoes belong to.}  But why take your shoes off there.   Shoe removal is a practice done by the Asian culture, or when one may enter certain temples. If I were to go and research ancient cultures and civilizations would I find the practice of removing shoes in either a holy place or home or place of honor. Greek, Egypt, Rome, Indian, Asian, Mayan, how about cultures of today. What I'm getting at here is... a coincidence the shoes are removed, a subconscious act, a place of honor or simply because his feet hurt.

Let's note that the Lava Lamp is on in the hatch and is on every time we see it.  A reference to a volcano perhaps or a metaphor?

Here's one...It's dark at the hatch, Locke tells Kate 5 hours ago I was dragged by the monster.  It was daylight then.  At the caves, 1/2 a mile away from the hatch, Jack says the sun comes up in 3 hours...Could we be missing a few hours here or am I over thinking this part?

As we head into season 2 we're still eye color watching, and let's add to that the plaid shirt phenomenon! That's right, Season 1 and 2 so far are filled with men wearing plaid shirts!  Dharma street wear? lol!   Note all the times someone is wearing plaid! Yuk! Even Jack is guilty of this bad fashion statement.

Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Crazy. Psych ward. Head. Emotions. Alone. Crippling pain. Hope.
* Desmond's injections a vaccine or a hallucinogen?
* Desmond is in control of the computer and mechanics of the hatch. Who is this guy, really?!
* Electronics. Computer. Cable. Wires. Numbers. Data. Driver.
* The image/audio of Walt is run backwards.
* Tube
* NO I.D.
* Jack chooses to work on female and not to intubate male, leaving Adam to die.
* T.O.D. 8:15am {the watch on nurse says 11: 14 Jack’s watch says 12:38.}
* Note Jack's hospital badge; his hair is longer
* Jack trips. Shannon trips.
* Kate uses Jack's Count to Five method.
* Jack goes from emotionally cold and by the book deliverer of news to Sarah before her surgery to a total emotional wreck after.
* Jack can hear weak whispering Sarah in the E.R. but doesn't hear Kate in the hatch.
* The caves are a ½ a mile away from the hatch and not once in that few weeks even with Locke and Boone out there did anyone stumble upon them.
* A "Glass".

Vocabulary and Research...
* Belay- Nautical to stop doing something, or not follow an earlier instruction.
* Dharma- The start of the Eight Fold Path.  The teachings of Buddha.  A journey to enlightenment.

Remember everything we see in an episode is there for us to see for a reason! Unless it's those times the writers send us a crap clue for a laugh. Funny guys,  gotta love them!
I wonder if John {or anyone else} stopped following instructions he'd gotten earlier.

Yes, Jack is a man of science; things based on facts and data. Locke is a man of faith, no questions asked. Can you be a person who believes in both? I wonder…

Love to all who are "LOST"™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
