The Other Woman. Ho Ho Ho.

PLEASE NOTE these notes were posted on MySpace March 8, 2008.

Let's talk about LOST! The Other Woman. Ho Ho Ho.

THIS IS NOT MY USUAL DETAILED EPISODE POST! I WILL DETAIL THIS EPISODE IN ORDER OF ALL EPISODES.  I have NOT re-watched. These are a few things that stuck out to me and things we need to think about. I'll build upon them with my upcoming research.

The Other Woman is a great episode!

Okay, without this being my "Official detailed episode clues blog", I can only ask questions about this episode and have fun doing it. So, until the "Official…" here's some fun thoughts on a fun night of LOST!
There is no doubt that this season has a completely different feel. It should! We're dealing with a must different layer of the story!!

When I saw the TEMPEST, my first thought....Star Wars/Return of the Jedi, Han Solo, Princess Leia and Chewbacca. They shot their way into a similar entrance. But there's much more of a Star Wars feel running through this episode!

Things to note…Questions to ask...
* Little quiet, intelligent, timid Juliet has an affair with a married man. A man who is her own therapist's husband! Shouldn't she know better? Isn't the island a little small to pull off an affair?
* Juliet plays with a ZEN GARDEN. {dark/light rocks} She makes wavy lines in the sand.
* Harper. Goodwin.
* In Harper's office: Sailboat, Hour glass.
* Laundry.
* Juliet in therapy! Yeah, right, who would have guessed that? We have to keep the ties to Santa Rosa going. It's stressful being an Other! Is it stressful being a native too?!
* As of the time that Goodwin and Juliet are having a picnic there are children on the island! Is it just Emma and Zack they're talking about? Aaron? How many other kids?
* Women who conceive on the Island are the ones who have problems with carrying. What is happening different with island conception? Or is it in the DNA? The DNA structure change?
* Smoke Monster/Harper? Could be. If I was the smoke monster, and I felt that Charlotte and Daniel we're trouble, I would just take them out myself. Why transform into Harper? Unless the 'smoke monster' is there to trigger a certain action from Juliet. Or maybe the smoke monster wants to manipulate the Jack/Juliet situation, one way or the other.
* The Red Socks. A hint to Christian hanging around, perhaps.
* Safe. Box. Locke.
* Ben is very jealous of Juliet's and Goodwin's relationship. Are we led to believe that Ben amped up the arrival of flight 815. He knew putting Goodwin in a certain situation would take Goodwin out of the picture. And how come Ben wasn't jumping up and down when a 'spinal surgeon' was available to him?
* Harper's degree has a HANSO logo on it.
* Why is Claire so concerned with how John is dealing with things?
* Is Miles still holding the grenade in his mouth?
* They're running out of chicken! Why? Where do the chickens come from?
* Eat rabbit, they taste like chicken! This rabbit wasn't white!
* Did it have a number on it? Is that a hint to Ben not really killing the bunny with Sawyer? Or a hint to The Orchid? Why couldn't we be taken to the damn Orchid already?!
* Being gone/Dead...Not really.
* Why is Goodwin, a doctor, lying to another doctor about how he got hurt?
* I must note that Juliet comes up through the water at the beach picnic with Goodwin.
* What is the deal with Charlotte and Daniel's mission at the TEMPEST? Did you see some interesting things inside the TEMPEST?! More on that in the detail blog.
* The Juliet in the flashes has the same personality as the Juliet we see in Miami. Not the tough Juliet that is in charge, can kick ass and shoot someone. Ben's go to gal.
* Does Juliet and Jack have history? Do I really have to discuss their kiss?
* Widmore. Yep!! If he bought the Black Rock journal back a bunch of years ago, he would already know where the island is. So, if so, is he responsible for placing Desmond on the island? Or did Desmond steal the journal and get to the island on his own, and Widmore has just now found it? Ok, I’ll stop that now! hehehe.
* The Losties at the barracks are way too comfortable there, especially John.
* Ben is creepy! Yes, but in control, always where he wants to be. Does he need to be in Santa Rosa?
* Everyone is where they want to be...
* Why isn't Locke asking a million questions? Ben still gets his way. He is the Jedi Master! Locke doesn't even ask him how he got footage of Widmore from the outside world!
* "BEN WILL WIN."
* "You're mine."
* What's with tracking in the rain? Tracking….
* The chess board is very much turned around.
* Ben must work for HANSO.
* Does anyone have the whispers?!!! I neeeeed them!
* Why does John need to sit down to hear the news about who is on the boat? Just show us Michael ALREADY!!!! If it's not Michael, who?
* The "Losties" the original Hostiles…
* Is someone's father on the Island trying to protect their "child"?

Vocabulary and Research…
* The Tempest was a steamship of the Anchor Line. It was with the Tempest that the Anchor Line began its transatlantic service between Glasgow and New York. She sailed on February 26, 1857, with a crew and passengers of one hundred and fifty on board, and vanished without a trace.
* A tempest is a violent storm.
* TEMPEST is a codename referring to investigations and studies of compromising emanations (CE). Compromising emanations are defined as unintentional intelligence-bearing signals which, if intercepted and analyzed, disclose the information transmitted, received, handled, or otherwise processed by any information-processing equipment.
* The Tempest is a play written by William Shakespeare.
* Tempest is the name of a powerful, 4-legged Martian Machine in the 1998 PC Game Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds.
* Angel Salvadore, often simply called Angel but now going by the codename Tempest, is a fictional character created by Grant Morrison and Ethan Van Sciver. She first appeared in New X-Men.

AND MY FAVORITE!!!!
* Tempest is the 3rd novel in the Legacy of the Force series, taking place some 40 years after the original Star Wars trilogy. As civil war threatens the unity of the Galactic Alliance, Han and Leia Solo have enraged their families and the Jedi by joining the Corellian insurgents. But the Solos draw the line when they discover the rebels' plot to make the Hapan Consortium an ally - which rests upon Hapan nobles murdering their pro-Alliance queen and her daughter. Yet the Solos' selfless determination to save the queen cannot dispel the inescapable consequences of their actions that will pit mother against son and brother against sister in the battles ahead. For as Jacen Solo's dark powers grow stronger under the Dark Jedi Lumiya and his influence over Ben Skywalker becomes more insidious.
* Horseshoes is an outdoor game played between 2 people (or 2 teams of 2 people) using 6 horseshoes and 2 stakes. The game is played by the players alternating turns tossing horseshoes at stakes in the ground, which are traditionally placed 40 feet (12.19 meters) apart. In horseshoes, there are two ways to score: by throwing "ringers," or by throwing the horseshoe nearest to the opposite stake. This scoring system gives rise to the popular expression "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades." A ringer is a thrown horseshoe such that the horseshoe completely encircles the stake. The game can be traced back to ancient times. Horseshoes are made of iron.

The Other Woman. Juliet, Kate, Harper, Claire, Charlotte… Are we sure we're seeing all about the past? Couldn't we be seeing the future!?
Maybe we are seeing the Return of our own Jedi after all! Hehehe.

Love to all who are "LOST"™

My notes for the episode The Other Woman

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
